Skate for LA Strong rosters: Justin Bieber, Steve Carrell headline players in benefit for wildfire victims
Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars are united with remarkable NHL alumni to raise money for those affected by Los Angeles wildfires. Big names like Justin Bieber and Steve Carrell lead the “Skate for the Strong” event, which the kings of Los Angeles and the NHL.
On Saturday, the Kings revealed four courts with stelae that would play a single removal tournament at Crypto.com Arena on Sunday afternoon at 18:00 ET. Each team will be a combination of celebrities, former NHL players and first who respond to LAFD, LACOFD and LAPD.
Bieber and Carrell are just a couple of celebrities who will be at the charity this weekend. Actor Taylor Kitsch, actor Ross Lynch, USC’s former quarterback, Matt Leinart and Famer Hall of Famer, Joe Mauer, are just a good handful of the other celebrities participating in the game.
These actors and old athletes could be slightly disadvantaged over the ice with some of the NHL alumni involved. Mark Messier, a member of the Hockey Fame Show, is the game, as is the former PK Defanter.
Kings legends, Jeff Carter, Jarrett Stoll and Rob Blake (also the current team -general) will also be adapted.
Star power is not limited to players. This is because there is so much, if no more, star power behind the bench. Each team will have two big names doing the coach.
- Black Team: Snoop Dogg and Will Ferrell
- Team Red: Vince Vaughn and Cobie Smolders
- Team Blue: Danny Devito and at Michaels
- Team White: Hannah Stocking and Andrew Whitworth
Pauses in the action will feature musical performances by Kaskade, Jordan Davis and Lauren Spencer-Smith.
There will be two games of a single elimination with the winner of each game moving forward to play the championship. Free tickets will be given to the first responds, victims of fires, community leaders and ticket holders of the Kings season. Donations benefit from Strong can be done through the Kings website.
