NWSL Team of the Week: Kansas City Current’s stars deliver; Gotham FC’s Lily Reale impresses as rookie
Week three of the NWSL season from 2025 gave us a number of extensive winning stripes for teams, and certain individual versions are becoming more difficult to limit on our weekly best XI. During the regular season of 2025, the attacking of Third selects a team of the week, with 11 of the best players of the week at the weekend. At the end of each match week, attacking third analysts will try to limit hundreds of versions, and one coach to lead them all, and even a plea for players with strong trips in games that do not end in victories.
It is a long campaign and the season will extend until October, but week three has brought us a few teams that separated from others, so make sure you dominated our team of the week.
There are still many regular seasonal competitions ahead, but fans can watch selected NWSL -Regular seasonal competitions on CBS platforms, including CBS, CBS Sports Network, Paramount+and CBS Sports Golazo Network.
View our best XI:
Ahead
Michelle Cooper (current Kansas City): Cooper’s game from week three is that of a complete player. She scored a goal and noted an assist against Utah and led the schedule in successful dribbles (three). Her total shots (two), attempts on goal (one) and opportunities created (one) are among the top five of the team after a third consecutive victory, and Cooper is a baller in every sense of the sentence.
Love for father (current Kansas City): Three goals through three games and Chawinga already leaves defenders in the dust. Whether it is on or outside the ball, the ruling NWSL Golden Boot winner is a constant threat. She can shoot, score and press on any team and will have a constant place in our team of the week at this pace.
Ashley Hatch (Washington Spirit): Hatch stabbed the cork as a vintage wine when the old spirit of the Spirit delivered a game-winning performance against Bay FC. Her two goals led the way to victory prior to a call-up to national team camps. Good timing for a great achievement.
Midfielders
Debinha (current Kansas City): Just like Chawinga, this is the third consecutive place of Deinha in our team of the week. The Brazilian international continues to supply consistent attacking versions and came to the score sheet in week three with its second goal of the season. She almost plays with a chip on her shoulder, and she might be left in April after she had left the schedule of Brazil in April, despite the fact that she led the entire competition in opportunities (14).
Haley McCutcheon (Orlando Pride): The hard-working, ball-winning midfielder can officially add target scorer to her resume. Her dedication in Baljacht, even when the team is out of transition, is impressive. She scored her second goal of the season and led the team in recovery (seven) in the third consecutive victory of the Pride.
Kenza Dali (San Diego Wave): The French International did not miss a step in adapting to NWSL game. Her impact on the Golf has been reasonably immediately and is remarkable in her active pressing and moments when she makes contact with teammates in the last third. Despite a loss against a top in Orlando, Dali has returned with an assist to Chiamaka Okwuchukwu.
“Dali was a midfield boss,” said the third analyst Darian Jenkins. “The way in which she plays these penetrating steps, her connection with McCaskill – which is also in shape – the balls she has used to get the assist … She touches her prime in which we see her when she is in France and I think it’s great that we get to see it.”
Defenders
Ma Vignola (Angel City FC): Vignola flew for the angels in week three. The outside back covered tons of land and was a constant presence when it became more involved in the field. She led the team in successful dribbles (three) and was heavy in challenges.
Tara McKeown (Washington Spirit): McKeown was a key factor in maintaining the cleansheet of the Spirit against Bay FC. The defender collaborated with her centerback partners Rebeca Bernal and Esme Morgan and she had an important consciousness in moments of transition for the team.
Alana Cook (current Kansas City): Cook brought the crunch during the third consecutive victory of the current one. She led the team in Tackles (four) and helped when organizing the backline when needed.
Lily Reale (Gotham FC): The Rookie had a huge response after her first professional start. She was perhaps at the end of her own goal in week two, but she was a big asset in week three and helped Gotham through momentum shifts. The Rookie was completed second in the Crosses team (four).
Goalkeeper
Mackenzie Arnold (Portland Thorns FC): The Australian International was very much against North Carolina Courage when she got 28 crosses during the match. She made five saves, including a coupling stop against a penalty attempt by Jaedyn Shaw.
Coach
Vlatko Andonovski (current Kansas City): The old NWSL manager makes his team look confidently and deadly for the goal, while he is stable and has organized himself from the back. The group is somehow an even better start than last season.
