NHL Star Power Index: Nathan MacKinnon reaches 1,000 career points, Dylan Cozens starts hot start in Ottawa

Nathan Mackinnon probably has the most impressive season of the Nhl Rankeds this year. The Star of Colorado Avalanche joined this summary earlier this week, achieving a professional milestone.

Mackinnon reached his 1,000th race in registering a pair of welfare of the Avalanche victory 3-0 against Chicago Blackhawks on Monday.

The 29 -year -old became the hundredth player in the history of the league to get 1,000 career points. Mackinnon also joined Joe Sakic (1,641) and Peter Stastny (1,048) as the only players in the history of Avalanche/Quebec Nordiques to get the feat.

As if this were not spectacular enough, Mackinnon also became the first NHL player to reach the 100 -point milestone of the season. He also became the second player in the history of the franchise to record three 100 -point seasons along with Stastny.

Mackinnon has recorded a point in six of his last seven games, including a two-goal game in a 7-4 victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

At the mark of 15:45 of the third period, striker Martin Necas sent his fist through the ice to a Mackinnon open to the opposite circle. When taking possession of the shit, Mackinnon Stick headed to his goalkeeper to Anthony Stolarz and struck the puck on Stolarz’s shoulder for a sensational goal.

Mackinnon’s goal ended up being the game winner to lift the avalanche ahead of Maple Leafs. Striker Valeri Nichushkin scored his hat, while Mackinnon also added an empty empty account to get the game.

It has been a one -week whirlwind for striker Dylan Cozens. It was one of the largest names that moved to the deadline for NHL trade when it was sent from the league’s buffalo to an Ottawa team that runs the Wild Card classification at the Eastern Conference.

In the first days of the tenure of its senators, it is thrown into the tune of two goals and two assists in their first four games. On Tuesday, Cozens found the back of the network in a 5-2 victory against the Philadelphia Flyers.

In the middle of the second period, Flyers Ombudsman Nick Seeler was trying to erase his own area when Cozens could take control of the offensive zone. Shortly after ensuring the puck, Cozens was able to get an embracing shot in front of Flyers goalkeeper, Ivan Fedotov, to make it a 4-2 game.

Cozens also recorded a goal in Monday 2-1 victory against Detroit’s Wings Red.

The 24 -year -old was originally selected with the 2019 NHL selection of NHL project for knowledge. Cozens surpassed 106 points (44 goals and 62 assists) in his first two complete seasons in Buffalo, which included 68 career points (31 goals and 37 assists) during the 2022-23 season.

However, Cozens saw his production in the last two campaigns with only 47 points (18 goals and 29 assists) in 2023-24. Prior to Friday’s trade, the center had won only 11 goals and 20 assists in 61 games for Buffalo this season.

Obviously, they have only been a few games, but Cozens seemed to have found a house in Ottawa. Cozens has been focusing on a line that also has Drake Batherson and David Perron and could help the senators break the Stanley Cup drought this season.

Seattle Kraken Ombudsman Brandon Moutour had a night for ages at a 5-4 overtime victory against Montreal Canadiens on Thursday. Montour even made sure to finish the game dramatically.

Montour recorded two goals and two assists, including scoring the winning goal only four seconds in the extension.

On the initial face of the extraordinary period, the puck was crushed in front of everyone and Montour was able to keep track of it. Montour quickly gained control of the shit, brought him alone and sent a shot past the goalkeeper of Canadiens, Jakub Dobes, to win the game.

Montour also tied a Kraken record for most points by a defender in one season. He also became the third defender of the NHL to record several four -point games this season. Finally, Montour established the franchise record for the most goals in a season (15) for a defender from Kraken when he surpassed the 14 goals of Vince Dunn in the 2022-23 season.

After helping Florida’s panthers winning the Stanley Cup last season, Montour signed a $ 50 million seven -year -old contract with Kraken during the summer. Montour added a lot of offensive positions at the end of Seattle, as he registered his third season of two two -digit goals during the last four campaigns.

After two subpar seasons with the Washington Capitals, veteran goalkeeper Darcy Kuemper has really settled with his team.

In his first season with the Los Angeles Kings, Kuemper has prospered in the tune of a 21-8-7 record, a 2.23 goals against the average and a percentage of .917. Kuemper’s goal, in the average average, is found as the second lowest among the goalkeepers classified behind only the protagonist of Winnipeg Jets, Connor Hellebuyck.

More recently, Kuemper stopped the 21 shots he faced in a 3-0 victory against the capitals on Thursday. In the process, Kuemper improved his record up to 11-0-1 in his last 12 games at home. This coincides with the longest-running-home gusts of a kings goalkeeper since Kelly Hrudey spent 11-0-1 during the 1990-91 season.

Kuemper reduced 1.58 goals to the average during March, including the surrender of only two total goals during his last three beginnings. The Kings Netontder also allowed only eight goals in five appearances this month.

After winning the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche de Colorado in 2022, Kuemper had reduced at least 2.87 goals in the average in each of the previous two seasons. However, Kuemper seemed to find a house in Los Angeles with a team of Kings that is currently in the second place in the Pacific Division and which sought the post -season.
