How do seeds perform in the Men’s Final Four?

How do seeds perform in the Men’s Final Four?

When filling the console, it is good not to get too much to get excited in the first round. The deeper you go to the tournament, the more points you can earn for the game in Console. In fact, it is often better to start with Tips with Final Four and work backwards.

But when thinking about the last four tips, what should you look for? Which seeds are the safest choices?

Check out the graph below that describes the frequency of the seeds that make the Final Four, the championship game and win the National Championship.

SEED Final Four Champions National champion
1 66 41 25
2 32 12 5
3 17 12 4
4 15 4 2
5 9 4 0
6 3 2 1
7 3 1 1
8 6 4 1
9 2 0 0
10 1 0 0
11 6 0 0
12 0 0 0
13 0 0 0
14 0 0 0
15 0 0 0
16 0 0 0

Note: The data dates back to 1985, when the tournament expanded to 64 teams.

Here are a few with you from the data:

Seeds No. 1 are for some reason the seeds No. 1

Of the 39 national champions since 1985, 25 of them were seeds No. 1. 13 of the last 17 winners came from the upper line, including Uconn in 2024. How crazy, as March can be, the best teams of regular seasons often have the most successful in the tournament.

In our mind, there is a crazy upset. These are some of the most memorable moments of the tournament and appear in “One Shining Moment”, but even if the highest seed is eliminated early, there are probably three more seeds no. 1.

But expect at least some unexpected

Even with the success of the seeds No. 1 in Final Four and Championship Game, there were only the last four, in which all the four highest seeds from the field got. 2008, when there were all Kansas, Memphis, North Carolina and Ucl, was the first and 2025 with Auburn, Duke, Florida and Houston.

In addition, three seeds No. 1 did only five times. The last four had barely more seeds no. 2, 3 and 4 (64) than seeds no. 1 (66). It is good to pay attention to the potential powerhouse from these seeds.

Collecting Cinderella that will go to Final Four is probably not worth it

It happened several times. Six seeds No. 11 went to Final Four – 1986 LSU, 2006 George Mason, 2011 VCU, 2018 Loyola Chicago, UCLA in 2021 and NC State in 2024. Villanova won the championship as Seed 8 in 1985. But even if you look at data from millions of records in men in Bracket Challenge, it’s okay to miss these tips.

In 2011, the four best finishes in Bracket Challenge won only half the finals. The key was that they got the championship game right (Butler vs. Uconn) and Champion (Uconn). In 2013, the first five finishes of the Wichita, who created Final Four, missed.

The data shows us that it is important to get into the right. It is better to go with higher seeds, because even if Cinderella is dancing, the probability that this selection will be right, plus the other three final four teams is not too high. It happens, but it is far from common.

Good luck.
