Cooper Flagg, Duke (2024-2025)
One of the most anticipated newcomers in the history of the men’s university basketball has certainly released when the 18 -year -old completed his spectacular season that led Blue Devils at points, rebounds, assistance, blocks and theft on his way to the final performance. He became only the fourth newcomer who won the Wooden Award and the only one who led his team in all five statistical categories.

Zion Williamson, Duke (2018-2019)
Williamson, like Flagg, became viral at the beginning of his secondary schools with compilation of highly flying jams and menacing blocks flooding social media. Mike Krzyzewski accumulated him next to his colleague the best prospect, RJ Barrett. The duo of the freshmen on the game on 22.6 points per game and Williamson took home Wooden Award, defeating his colleagues finalists and teammate Barrett. Blue Devils won the total number one seed, but their season was shortened after Michigan State eliminated Duke in Eight.

Anthony Davis, Kentucky (2011-2012)
Czech, as many called it during his 2011-2012 season with Big Blue Nation, compiled the captivating season of One and the feasts under John Calipari. He is the only freshman won by the Wooden Award and the National Championship on the diameter of the double double with points and rebounds and leads the nation with absurd 4.7 blocks per game. And Davis did not avoid in the biggest moments, published 24 points, 30 rebounds, 11 blocks, seven assists, and four of the last four games. He threw the NCAA tournament by taking home the most important prize when Kentucky took home his eighth title.

Kevin Durant, Texas (2006-2007)
Durant is another after publishing 25.8 points per game in his line season in Austin – the most points for the game of all Freshman Wooden Award. Longhorns did not have the tournament success of the above names after five Southern Cal seeds were introduced in the second round, but Durant was impassable throughout the season. In the loss of the second round in Texas Durant, 30 of Longhorn’s 68 points fell. Overall, Durant had 10 30-point games, while shooting over 40% of the 3-point soil of the year.

Carmelo Anthony, Syracuse (2002-2003)
Anthony led Orange to their first and only national championship after entering the AP survey, and he was only the third newcomer to the NCAA tournament. Melo continued his tears until March and average 20.2 points per game, while shooting 48% behind the arch. In the end, he was defeated by Texas’ TJ Ford for Wooden Award, but put together a season where Orange would always appreciate before taking its talent to the NBA.
