Eddie Howe in hospital: Newcastle boss to miss Sunday’s Manchester United Premier League match
Newcastle -Manager Eddie Howe will miss the Premier League match of his match against Manchester United on Sunday after being admitted to the hospital. Howe felt unwell for a few days and went to the hospital on Friday evening, where he stayed for further tests.
A club statement said: “Eddie kept Eddie in the hospital at night for further tests that are going on. He is aware and talks to his family and continues to receive expert medical care.
“Everyone at Newcastle United extends their best wishes to Eddie for a quick recovery, and further updates will follow in due course.”
In his absence assistant managers, Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones will lead the Magpies in St. James’ Park for a crucial game in the pursuit of the Club of Champions League qualification. Newcastle is currently seventh in the Premier League table, but will have two games in hand in each team above them by the time they start on Sunday.
Newcastle comes up with their second game in hand on Wednesday when they organize Crystal Palace.
Speaking on Friday when he took Howe’s place at the press conference, Tindall said about the boss of Newcastle: “He has been really bad in recent days, but we have had daily contact.
“We spoke three or four times a day, so it has no influence on the preparations. We still have a few days and I am sure it is going well with the weekend.”
