The star of Washington Capital, Alex Ovechkin, closes the record for all times of Wayne Gretzky’s time. In his search for Nhl Immortality, Ovechkin raises money to benefit the research of pediatric cancer.

According to a capital press statement, Ovechkin collaborates with the Hockey Fight Cancer and the F Foundation to launch “GR8 persecution for cancer victory”.

From Wednesday’s game against New York Rangers, Ovechkin plans to give a dollar amount equal to his total career goal for each goal that sets the rest of his career. Monumental Sports & Entertainment, which owns the capital, plans to combine each of Ovechkin’s donations.

Ovechkin has also asked fans to accompany him in this collection effort of cancer funds. Suggested that fans would give $ 8 in honor of Ovechkin number 8. According to the team, 100% of donations will benefit the research of pediatric cancer through the F Foundation.

“I am proud to unite -ME to the V Foundation and to support their efforts to fund life cancer research,” said Ovechkin. “Throughout my NHL career, I have met many brave children fighting cancer and I think it is important to do what I can to help save more lives from this horrible illness. I want to thank the F Foundation for all his hard work and I hope to use my platform and do everything I can to help the V and Hockey Foundation against the Cancer Mission.”

Foundations V were founded in 1993 to pay tribute Jim Valvano, a legendary men’s basketball coach in the NC state who died from cancer. Foundations V have raised $ 400 million estimated for cancer research since its inception.
