Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese matchup warrants bigger venue as Sky move 2 games to United Center

The highly expected matchup between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese grants a considerable venue to meet the hype. This plan is now announced on Friday as the Chicago Sky, for which Reese plays, that the games in Chicago with two of the brightest young stars of the WNBA will take place in the United Center, where the Bulls of the NBA and the NHLS Blackhawks play instead of the Sky’s Wintrust Arena.

Clark and Reese will now play twice as many fans as the capacity of the United Center 20.917 compared to the 10,387 of the Wintrust Arena.

Clark and Reese were in college seven times – while Reese was in Maryland and LSU and Clark in Iowa – and in their rookie games in the WNBA. If the teams meet in the United Center on June 7, it will be the largest stadium capacity in which they played against each other. Reese’s Terrapins and Clarks Hawkeyes met in 2021 in the Big Ten Championship of the Women in the Gainbridge Fieldhouse of the NBA, which has a sitting capacity of 18.345.

The sky and fever will play again in Chicago on July 27th.

You will also play three times in Indianapolis: May 17th at the start of the season on August 9th and September 5th.

In four games last season, the fever against the sky was 3: 1. Clark scored an average of 20.5 points in these games, including an output of 31 points and 12-assisting performance in a 100-81 victory on August 30, 2024. Reese scored an average of 13.5 points in the four games and had 25 on the sky victory over the fever.

Clark, the rookie of the year last season, and Reese rejected the WNBA with increasing number of visitors and ratings. They have been rivals since their college days when the LSU Iowa competed in the national championship game in 2023.
