The odds of the Stanley Cup in Betmgm paint a clear image: The Panthers and Hurricanes are the first two teams in the Eastern Conference, while the western conference is open with the stars, avalanches, oilers and knights who look like legitimate contestants.
It does not seem right that the teams are as strong as the stars and avalanches must play in the first round, as both teams are completely able to make a championship career. In my opinion, the winner of the Colorado-Dallas series will represent the western conference in the Stanley Cup final.
At the Eastern Conference, the panthers seem to fight the team.
Better bet: Colorado Avalanche +775
2025 Playoff NHL Playoff to win the Eastern Conference (in Betmgm)
Current probabilities | Open odds
Montreal Canadiens | +4000 | +10000 |
Ottawa Senators | +1600 | +2000 |
New Jersey Devils | +1600 | +625 |
Toronto maple leaves | +575 | +800 |

- Favorite: Panthers +340
- Higher Ticket Percentage: Capitals 16.8%
- Higher handle percentage: Hurricanes 38.1%
- Greater responsibility: Red wings
I do not love the value here for hurricanes (+350) or panthers (+340). However, Florida is my choice at the Eastern Conference. My sleeping selection here would be the leaves of Toronto Maple.
Better bet: Panthers (+340)
Sleeper: Maple Leafs (+575)
2025 Playoff NHL Playoff to win the western conference (in Betmgm)

Sant Lluís Blues | +1800 | +2200 |
Los Angeles Kings | +950 | +1000 |
Winnipeg Jets | +525 | +1000 |

- Higher Ticket Percentage: Avalanche 16.9%
- Higher handle percentage: Jets 40.2%
- Greater responsibility: Blues
The stars and Avalanche stood in a game of the first round that possibly has the two best teams of the Western conference right now. The winner will immediately become the favorite to win the Stanley 2025 Cup. Colorado is my choice in this series, with Vegas that looks like a possible sleeper.
Better bet: Avalanche (+450)
Sleeper: Vegas Golden Knights (+450)
2025 NHL Probability to earn the Conn Smythe Trophy (A BETMGM)
Current probabilities
Aleksander Barkov | +2500 |
Jake Oettinger | +2500 |
Leon Draisaitl | +2200 |
Cale Makar | +2200 |
Jack Eichel | +2000 |
Connor Hellebuyck | +1500 |
Nathan Mackinnon | +1400 |
McDavid Connor | +1300 |
The story would suggest that this award will go to the highest player of the winning team of the Stanley Cup. Last year, McDavid became the sixth player who won the Smythe Connest while playing a team who did not win the Stanley Cup. This year I hope the Smythe winner is also a Stanley Cup champion, and my early prediction is that the possible Stanley Cup champion will be the team that wins the Stars-Avalanche series.
The last time Colorado won the Stanley Cup, Makar took home. Nathan Mackinnon at 14-1 is attractive, but Makar at 22-1, the value is too good to pass.
Better bet: Makar +2200
Most likely the final matches of the Stanley Cup (in Betmgm)
Current probabilities
Hurricanes vs. Assesse | +1600 |
Hurricanes vs. stars | +1600 |
Panthers vs. Assesse | +1600 |
Panthers vs. Star | +1600 |
Betmgm’s odds have established these four teams as clear more contestants in each conference. As mentioned above, I hope Colorado wins his first series on the stars and finally won the Western Conference Championship. I also hope that the panthers will prevail at the Eastern Conference for the second consecutive year.
Better bet: Avalanche vs. Panthers (+1600)
